How we work
Four steps and no surprises
The method is deliberately short. The fewer hands the money passes through, the less goes missing and the easier it is to explain what happened to it.
Every day out follows the same order. No step is skipped even when there is a rush, because skipping one is exactly how trust gets lost.
The order, always the same
01
Find
The area is proposed by someone already working there, usually a parish, a school or a group of neighbours. It is not picked from an office.
02
Verify
Before anything moves, someone from the team goes and checks what is really needed and how many families there are. What is asked for is often not what is most urgent.
03
Deliver
The team does the buying, in volume and with receipts, and the team hands it over. No money is transferred to third parties to buy on our behalf.
04
Show
The day is photographed and shown afterwards, unstaged. If something went wrong, that gets told too.
How one area gets chosen over another
- How long the community has gone without the basics.
- Whether it can be reached and left the same day safely.
- Whether there is someone trusted on site who can organise the handout.
The method only works if it is funded.
Every day out has a concrete cost and it is covered by small contributions.
